APPLICATION OF UNIQUE MEDICAL AND MANAGEMENT RECORDING AND REPORTING SYSTEM FOR SMALL PRIVATE PRACTICE/CLINICS

Concept

Many small private practices struggle with being able to manage patient data, and to control their pharmaceutical stocks, as well as with mandatory monthly government reporting. This results in compromised patient care, treatment and referral, as well as demotivation of clinic staff. Most of these clinics are not able to monitor their expenditure and income, and are therefore unaware of profits that they could use to improve patient care and services.

A simple system that enables doctors and their staff in these small private practices to recall up-to-date patient records at the touch of a button, and which also includes one-time data entry and reporting of financial data (costs, income and profits), disease profiles, government clinical reports and pharmaceutical and/or laboratory stock control would alleviate the above obstacles to efficiency in the management of small private clinics, and therefore in the improvement of overall patient care.

Angsamerah (www.angsamerah.com) has taken the initiative to develop such simple, user-friendly database software, which enables doctors and their staff to routinely enter data on patients, treatments, clinic pharmaceutical, laboratory, and office stock, expenditure and income.

This software also enables the clinic to prepare mandatory reports for the Ministry of Health, as well as to report on the disease and treatment profile of the clinic. This software is a unique product in Indonesia that aims to improve the efficiency of small private clinics, which would contribute to the overall strengthening of the health care system in Indonesia.

Angsamerah is now seeking support to expanding the development of this medical, financial and pharmaceutical recording and reporting software, and to roll this software out to 100 private clinics located in Jakarta and other cities in which Angsamerah has projects/networkings, and potentially to be expanded nationally.

COMMUNNICATION SKILLS TRAINING FOR VETERINARY LEADERS, SUPPORTED BY AIP-EID (August to December 2014)

Angsamerah Institution had been awarded to deliver In House Training - Communications Skills for the Veterinary Leaders, Directorate General Veterinary, Ministry of Agriculture, Republic of Indonesia. The trainings was funded by The Australia Indonesia Partnership for Emerging Infectious Diseases (AIP-EID)

The training modules were developed by Angsamerah's Associates, with guidance from Directorate of Livestock and Animal Health Services's staff and AIP-EID team to ensure it accomodates to their and participants's needs.

The assignment period for this work was four (4) months, commenced on 11 August 2014 and completed by 31 December 2014. The trainings were delivered in three phases.

The topics were about:

- Self-motivation, building positive character toward generating productive results/works

- Personal Branding

- Communication skills

- Public Speaking

- Meeting Management

- Writing Skill

- Project Development

Phase I - The training was about a complete package of training development and character development that leads participants on how to repair the views, attitudes, and behaviors of self and relationships with others.

Then redirect to know all the forces themselves positively; accept themselves as they are, and want to make peace, thankful, and confident with themselves; develop themselves with thoughts, words and positive feelings to optimize all the potential and latent talents within themselves; and motivate themselves to become a person of success in work and personal life; and use emotional intelligence (EQ) in solving the problem.

Pos Kesehatan Mandiri, LPPSLH, Purwokerto, Jawa Tengah

Pos Kesehatan Mandiri is a community owned health service within the Gang Sadar lokalisasi in the resort town of Baturraden, about 20 minutes drive away from Purwokerto. 

It has been created out of the local sex worker community’s own initiative back in 2007, with support from LPPSLH Purwokerto. 

Initially, the clinic services have not been fully developed but over the years there have been regular mobile HIV and STI screenings at its premises conducted by two local puskesmas (Baturraden 1 and 2) and funded with FHI and later Global Fund money. Since May 2014 Pos Kesehatan Mandiri has been receiving support for its operation by LPPSLH, with funding from SUM II. This means that at the moment services are provided four days a week - on two days by local puskesmas staff supported by Global Fund and on two days by a newly recruited team from LPPSLH, backed by SUM II.

Klinik Wisma Kesehatan Terpadu Cendrawasih, Tanjung Elmo, Jayapura, Papua

Wisma Kesehatan Terpadu Cenderawasih (WKTC PKBI) is a sexual and reproductive health clinic situated in the heart of Tanjung Elmo lokalisasi. The red light complex is located at the picturesque shores of Lake Sentani below the main road connecting Sentani airport with the provincial capital Jayapura (which is roughly a 30 minutes drive away). It currently houses more than 300 migrant female sex workers, mostly from East Java province.

WKTC is run by the Papua branche of the PKBI, which is the Indonesian Planned Parenthood Association. The clinic is well established and has been operating since 1997 (for 17 years). The clinic has previously been assisted by FHI for clinical assistances and outreach (until 2010, through the provincial health office), and is currently in the process of receiving a small grant by the USAID SUM II program.

Klinik Keluarga YKB, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta Utara

Klinik Keluarga Tanjung Priok in North Jakarta is one of five family planning clinics run by Yayasan Kusuma Buana in Jakarta and West Java Province. 

The clinic has opened its doors more than 30 years ago (in 1983) and has managed to stay open and provide services up to this day, which is a remarkable achievement. 

For the last 13 years Klinik Keluarga Tanjung Priok has been led by dr. Nelly Natalyza, who is a gerneral practitioner with extensive work experience, a strong committment and sense of belonging and who deals with her clients in a warm, humanistic and pragmatic way.
